At Butler Garage Doors, the goal of every job is simple. Every customer should walk away feeling like they were taken care of by someone they can trust. That means being upfront about what is wrong, giving real options at different price points, and never recommending something that is not actually needed. It means doing the small things that make a difference, the things that bigger, busier companies tend to skip. And it means standing behind every job with a real warranty, because if we did the job right, we should have no problem backing it up.
David Butler is a California Certified Contractor with over 20 years of experience working on residential garage door systems across San Diego County. He has built a reputation for getting the diagnosis right, giving homeowners honest options, and not leaving until the job is done to standard. But the foundation of how he works was not laid in a garage. It was built long before that.
David was born and raised in San Diego. His first job was bussing tables at Red Lobster, and even then something stood out. Customers would stop him mid-shift to hand him a tip, not because it was expected, but because they noticed how hard he was working. That drive followed him to Discount Tire, where he learned what a customer-first operation actually looks like from the inside.
From there he worked his way up to Toyota Certified Technician, and that is where his standards for quality took root. When a friend brought him into the garage door industry, he carried all of it with him. The hustle from bussing tables. The customer service instincts from Discount Tire. The attention to quality from the shop floor. Butler Garage Doors is what happens when all of that comes together.
Butler Garage Doors operates as a licensed, insured, and bonded California Certified Contractor (#1115400) throughout San Diego County. With over 20 years of experience working on residential garage door systems across the region, the team has handled nearly every door type, opener brand, spring setup, and cable configuration found in San Diego homes.
That range of experience matters because garage door problems rarely have a single obvious cause. The same symptom can point to five different issues depending on the equipment, the age of the system, and how it was originally installed. That is what gets it fixed right the first time instead of patched up well enough to get by.
When you invite someone into your home to work on it, you want to know they have earned that trust. Here is what backs ours.
With 20 years in the garage door industry, our team has worked on nearly every type of door, opener, and system configuration. That depth of experience means fewer surprises on the job and better outcomes for your home.
We take the time to explain what we found, what we recommend, and why, so you always know what you are paying for and what to expect when the job is done.
We do not treat repairs or installations as temporary fixes. Every job is done with quality materials and proper technique so the results hold up long after we have left your driveway.
As a family-owned business rooted in San Diego County, we have a personal stake in the quality of our work. Our neighbors are our customers, and we take that seriously on every job.
Whether you need a repair, a full installation, or just someone who will give you a straight answer, Butler Garage Doors is ready to help. Call us at (619) 404-2213 or fill out our contact form and we will get back to you promptly.
